Following on the path of the Pandavas to heaven, there lies a divine glacial lake Satopanth amidst the Himalayas. The triangular shaped lake is situated at an altitude of 4880m and have crystal clear green waters. The base camp for this lake is Mana Village, 3 km distance from the holy town of Badrinath. The trail to Satopanth lake is very dramatic offering some stunning views of the Garhwal Himlayas. Youâ€™ll encounter gushing streams, alpine meadows and thick oak forests all the way to the lake. The three corners of this sacred lake is believed to be the pious spot of the Holy trinity of Brahma, Vishnu & Mahesh (Shiva), where they performed meditation and hence holds much greater spiritual importance in Hindu culture.
Day 01 : Drive from Rishikesh to Govindghat (1828m); 275 km, 9-10 hour.
Day 02 : Drive Govindghat to Mana Village & Trek to Lakshmi Ban (3840m); 1 hr drive and 9 km trek.
Day 03 : Trek Lakshmi Ban to Chakrateerth (4570m); 10 km, 6-7 hour.
Day 04 : Trek Chakrateerth to Satopanth Lake (4880m); 5km, 4-5 hour.
Day 05 : Trek Satopanth Lake to Bandhar; 13 km, 6-7 hour.
Day 06 : Trek Bandhar to Mana Village (3200m) and Drive to Govindghat; 11 km trek, 1 hour drive.
Day 07 : Drive Govindghat to Rishikesh; 275 km, 9-10 hour.
