Kedar Tal is an emerald lake situated at an altitude of 4780m above sea level. It sits next to the Kedar Bamak Glacier at the foot of mighty Thalaysagar (6,904m), Brigupanth Peak (6,772m) and Jogin Group of peaks. The pea green lake formed by the melting of Kedar glacier is also known as Shivaâ€™s lake. On a clear day you can witness the crystal clear reflection of the enormous Thalaysagar peak in the lake. You can find Bharal (blue sheep), Himalayan black bear and a wide variety of birds during this trek.
Day 01 : Drive from Rishikesh to Gangotri (3120m); 270 km, 10 hour.
Day 02 : Trek Gangotri to Bhoj Kharak (3791m); 8 km, 5 hour.
Day 03 : Trek Bhoj Kharak to Kedar Kharak (4280m); 5 km, 4 hour.
Day 04 : Trek Kedar Kharak to Kedar Tal (4780m); 6 km, 4.5 hour.
Day 05 : Trek Kedar Tal to Bhoj Kharak (3791m); 8 km, 5 hour.
Day 06 : Trek Bhojkharak to Gangotri and Drive to Harsil (2620m); 8 km trek , 1 hour drive.
Day 07 : Drive back to Rishikesh. Reach by 7-8 pm.
