Gaumukh Tapovan Trek
Gaumukh means ‚ÄúMouth of a Cow‚ÄĚ, is a source of holy river Ganges, while Tapovan means a sacred and serene place, where the sages meditate for spiritual bliss. From Tapovan, Mt Shivling rises from its base all the way to its summit. That‚Äôs a rare sight ‚ÄĒ to see a mountain in its entirety. Day 01 : Drive from Rishikesh to Gangotri (3120m); 270 km, 10 hour.
Day 02 : Trek Gangotri to Bhojbasa (3970m) via Chirbasa; 14 km, 8 hour.
Day 03 : Trek Bhojbasa to Tapovan (4329m); 9 km, 7 hour.
Day 04 : Exploratory day to Nandanvan (4350m) and back to Tapovan; 5-6 hour.
Day 05 : Trek Tapovan to Chirbasa (3586m); 14 km, 4-5 hour.
Day 06 : Trek Chirbasa to Gangotri and Drive to Harsil (2620m); 9 km trek , 1 hour drive.
Day 07 : Drive back to Rishikesh. Reach by 7-8 pm.
